Borgia is a common Italian surname, documented in Tuscany and the Veneto since the
16th century. Our family has carried it for generations and chose it as the name of
the properties we operate today — a small portfolio of hospitality projects
rooted in the historic centres of Florence and Rome.
We are not affiliated with the historical House of Borgia of the Italian Renaissance
(the papal family of Alexander VI, Cesare and Lucrezia Borgia). The name we share with
that famous lineage is a coincidence of surname, not of descent. Quoi we do share with
the Italian Renaissance is a love for the buildings, the craft, and the rituals of
hospitality that it bequeathed to Florence — visible in our salotto’s newly
commissioned frescoes and Murano chandeliers (see Projets).
The tradition of art, architecture, and hospitality runs deep within the Borgia lineage. From frescoed salons in
Renaissance palaces to the timeless charm of Italian villas, the family has always cherished spaces that tell
stories.
Each detail within our properties, from antique furnishings to architectural elements -
evokes the spirit of noble Italian homes. Voyageurs today experience not just comfort, but the atmosphere of a
historic home passed down through generations.
Our residences in Florence, Central Rome, and the Roman countryside reflect the same attention to detail and
respect for history. Whether nestled in a quiet street near Piazza di Spagna or in the heart of Renaissance
Florence, every apartment and room has a story, and a soul.
